Ingredients:
- 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 tsp dried oregano (optional)
- Marinara sauce (optional, for dipping)
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Prepare a baking sheet by greasing it lightly or lining it with parchment paper. - Roll Out the Dough:
Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness. For thicker breadsticks, aim for about 1/2 inch thick. For thinner breadsticks, roll the dough out slightly more. - Cut Into Strips:
Use a pizza cutter or sharp knife to slice the dough into 1-inch-wide strips. - Prepare Garlic Butter:
In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. - Brush the Dough:
Generously brush the garlic butter mixture over the surface of the dough strips. - Add the Cheese Topping:
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the strips, followed by the grated Parmesan. If you like, add a touch of dried oregano for extra flavor. - Twist the Breadsticks:
Carefully twist each strip and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Be sure to leave some space between each breadstick to allow for even cooking. - Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, or until the breadsticks are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly. - Serve Warm:
Let the breadsticks cool for a few minutes, then serve warm. Pair them with marinara sauce for dipping if desired.
Tips:
- For extra crispiness, bake slightly longer while keeping an eye on them.
- Add crushed red pepper flakes to the cheese mixture for a spicy twist.
