Creamy Cajun Shrimp Pasta Recipe

Ingredients

Cajun Seasoning (Approx. 4 tbsp):

  • 3 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp dried thyme

Pasta Dish:

  • 1 lb penne pasta (or your preferred type)
  • 1 lb shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning (divided)
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Garnish:

  • Grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta:
    Boil pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Season the Shrimp:
    Toss shrimp in a bowl with 1 tablespoon of Cajun seasoning, ensuring even coating.
  3. Sauté the Shrimp:
    Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  4. Prepare the Sauce:
    In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté minced garlic until fragrant. Add diced tomatoes, heavy cream, and the remaining Cajun seasoning. Let the mixture simmer until the sauce thickens.
  5. Incorporate the Cheese:
    Stir in grated Parmesan cheese until it’s fully melted and blended into the sauce.
  6. Combine Pasta and Shrimp:
    Return the shrimp to the skillet, add the cooked pasta, and toss everything until evenly coated with the sauce.
  7. Garnish and Serve:
    Top with additional grated Parmesan and fresh parsley. Serve immediately.
